FROM PROMISE TO PRESENCE

All throughout Scripture, God’s people clung to His promises—promises of a King who would come, a Savior who would reign, and a Redeemer who would bring light into the darkness. Our study of 2 Samuel in The Promised King revealed how David’s story foreshadowed the arrival of the greater King, Jesus. Now, as we turn to the gospel of Luke, we see those promises fulfilled. From John preparing the way, to Mary’s humble obedience, to songs of prophecy and praise, and finally to the angels’ announcement of Christ’s birth—Luke shows us how God’s faithfulness takes shape in the most extraordinary way: His promise becomes His presence.
