Jesus entered the world fulfilling prophecies of old. He ushered in a new kingdom of peace, forgiveness, and salvation to those who believed. He commanded a new way of living. 

God orchestrated the return of His people from exile to Jerusalem. By leading them to rebuild His temple and the walls of the city, God made a way to restore their relationship because He longs for the hearts of His people to be reconciled to Him.

This series walks through a season in Israel’s history marked by division—division among kings, between nations, and even in worship. Though sin and idolatry pulled God’s people away from Him, God’s mercy never failed. 

Treasuring Jesus strengthens churchwide unity, inspires intentional discipleship in the home, and sets the foundation for a renewed season of Christ-centered growth.

Do Old Testament stories still matter today? Though we don’t live in a monarchy or defend a promised land, the same temptations from 1 Samuel arise in our lives. Just as Israel rejected God as King, we too can seek control elsewhere—yet nothing removes God from His throne. The truth remains: "He Shall Reign."

That word “faithful” pertains to being trustworthy and dependable. It describes someone we can have full confidence in. Only God is all of those things. But how do we experience and embrace His faithfulness in our everyday lives?

Colossians will remind us to focus our minds on Christ no matter what successes or challenges may come into our lives. As believers, we can have hope because Christ is Above All!
